Understanding Tajweed: A Beginner's Guide

Tajweed is the craft of giving every letter its right: makharij (points of articulation) and sifaat (qualities). Begin with the throat letters, then the tongue, then the lips.

Noon sakinah and tanween rules — izhar, idgham, iqlab, ikhfa — are the first map most students master. Practise with a teacher who can hear what you cannot yet hear.
